NSW DPI Fisheries – Illegal Fishing

Excellent information received via the Fishers Watch phone line over the weekend enabled NSW DPI Fisheries Officers with the assistance of NSW Police to apprehend 2 people illegally fishing at Keepit Dam in north west NSW.

The 2 alleged offenders were illegally using a 35m mesh net in the waters of Keepit Dam and face numerous offences including possess fish illegally taken and unlawful use of net. #fineswithyourfish Officers seized the mesh net and 29 fish of various species. The net and fish have been retained as evidence.
